Louis Vuitton is seeking a Prototype Development Assistant to support the transformation of creative concepts into functional prototypes, coordinating technical development, external partners, schedules, budgets and final presentations. This is a six-month full-time internship in Paris, starting in January 2027.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Help translate creative concepts into functional, representative prototypes for internal strategic approvals, supporting the Prototype Manager throughout the prototype lifecycle from ideation to final presentation while monitoring technical and aesthetic feasibility and schedules.
  • Analyze design teams’ creative intent and help formalize technical specifications.
  • Contribute to the preparation of working documents, specifications and production briefs.
  • Monitor materials, technologies and emerging manufacturing processes.
  • Track prototype manufacturing and development with external providers on a daily basis.
  • Check incoming prototypes against specifications and initial creative expectations.
  • Help coordinate adjustments and refinements during prototyping.
  • Support the identification and assessment of new suppliers, workshops and specialist providers.
  • Handle administrative order follow-up, including delivery tracking, supplier reminders and invoice management.
  • Help update partner and materials innovation mapping.
  • Help update and monitor development schedules against strategic meeting deadlines.
  • Track prototype budget indicators and contribute to activity reporting.
  • Help anticipate risks of delay or non-compliance.
  • Facilitate communication between design teams, the Prototype Manager and workshops.
  • Participate in project reviews and provide constructive feedback on technical feasibility.
  • Provide logistical and technical support during project reviews.
  • Help organize, assemble and stage prototypes for final presentation.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or business school education, with a specialization in luxury management, project management, design or creative disciplines.
  • Rigor and strong organizational skills for operational follow-up, schedule and reverse-planning management, administrative and budget tracking, and meeting strategic deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and high aesthetic and technical standards to review briefs, check prototype conformity with creative expectations, analyze designers’ intent and ensure quality of execution.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to facilitate coordination between design teams, the Prototype Manager and external workshops, and communicate effectively.
  • Responsiveness and foresight to identify risks of delay or non-compliance early and coordinate necessary adjustments promptly.
  • Curiosity and interest in innovation, materials, technologies, new manufacturing processes and sourcing.
  • Pragmatism and a strong sense of feasibility when translating creative concepts into functional objects.
  • Solution-oriented approach and ability to propose practical alternatives in response to technical or scheduling constraints.
  • Fluency in French and English, written and spoken.
