Louis Vuitton is seeking a Prototype Development Assistant to support the lifecycle of visual merchandising prototypes, from creative concept and technical development through final presentation, coordinating with design teams, workshops and external partners. This is a six-month, full-time internship in Paris, starting January 2027.
Role & Responsibilities
- Help translate creative concepts into functional, representative prototypes for internal strategic reviews, ensuring technical and aesthetic feasibility and adherence to schedules.
- Support the analysis of design teams’ creative intentions and the formalization of technical specifications.
- Help prepare working documents, specifications and production briefs.
- Monitor materials, technologies and new manufacturing processes.
- Track prototype development and manufacturing progress with external providers.
- Check received prototypes against specifications and initial creative expectations.
- Help coordinate adjustments and refinements during prototyping.
- Support the identification and assessment of new suppliers, workshops and specialist service providers.
- Handle administrative order follow-up, including delivery tracking, supplier reminders and invoice management.
- Help update partner and materials-innovation mapping.
- Update and track development schedules against strategic meeting deadlines.
- Monitor prototype budget indicators and contribute to activity reporting.
- Help anticipate risks of delay or non-compliance.
- Facilitate communication among design teams, the prototype manager and workshops.
- Take part in progress reviews and provide constructive feedback on technical feasibility.
- Provide logistical and technical support during project reviews.
- Help organize, assemble and stage prototypes for their final presentation.
- Support the operational management of the prototype lifecycle, from ideation through final presentation.
Qualifications
- Engineering or business school education, with a specialization in luxury management, project management, design or creative disciplines.
- Rigour and organizational skills for operational follow-up, schedule and administrative and budget management, and meeting strategic deadlines.
- Attention to detail and high aesthetic and technical standards when reviewing briefs, checking prototype compliance, analyzing designers’ intentions and monitoring execution quality.
- Interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to facilitate coordination between design teams, the prototype manager and external workshops.
- Responsiveness and foresight to identify risks of delay or non-compliance and coordinate timely adjustments.
- Curiosity and interest in innovation, materials, technologies, new manufacturing processes and sourcing.
- Pragmatism and a focus on feasibility when translating creative concepts into functional objects.
- Solution-oriented approach and ability to propose practical alternatives to technical or scheduling constraints.
- Fluency in French and English, written and spoken.
