Louis Vuitton — Patternmaker Apprentice (Tailoring) in Paris. Apprenticeship position in the atelier to develop patterns and prototypes for tailored garments.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Interpret designers' sketches and translate creative intent into precise volumes and shapes for tailored garments.
  • Develop patterns by flat patternmaking and/or draping for a range of garments (jackets, trousers, coats, shirts), respecting stylistic and technical constraints.
  • Construct muslins/toiles to validate proportions, volumes and fit.
  • Participate in the creation of initial prototypes, ensuring high standards of finish and accuracy.
  • Attend fittings and implement adjustments on toiles and prototypes to achieve the desired drape and silhouette.
  • Maintain awareness of new patternmaking techniques, materials and sector innovations to inform development.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a BTS, Bachelor's or equivalent diploma in patternmaking, fashion modelling (modélisme) or related fashion program.
  • Basic mastery of flat patternmaking and/or draping (moulage); knowledge of tailoring assembly and construction techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical sketches and to work to precise measurements and tolerances.
  • Good understanding of textile behaviour and material properties.
  • Professional punctuality, rigor and strong attention to detail; collaborative team attitude and willingness to learn.

Experience
