Louis Vuitton in Sarras seeks a Modelmaking Assistant (Apprenticeship) — alternance starting Sep 2026, 1–2 years. Full-time, on-site at the Sarras leather goods atelier.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the modelmaking team in the Atelier de maroquinerie (Sarras) to develop and industrialize new leather goods collections for central product teams in Paris.
- Prepare and deliver prototypes that reflect the stylistic intent while meeting the Maison’s exacting quality standards.
- Ensure availability and preparation of materials required for prototype construction.
- Perform hand and machine cutting of materials, and participate in product assembly, mounting and finishing operations.
- Operate and select appropriate equipment and machines for sample manufacture under supervision.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, processes and production methods to anticipate industrialisation constraints.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a BTS or licence (Bachelor) program in modelmaking, patternmaking, leather goods, or a closely related discipline and eligible for an alternance contract.
- Comfortable with standard office software, specifically Outlook and Microsoft (Office).
- Ability to communicate clearly, work collaboratively across teams and propose pragmatic solutions.
- Available to work full time on-site at the Sarras atelier (Ardèche) and commute to nearby hubs as required.
Skills
Experience
Entry-level; open to beginners as part of an alternating study program. Prior vocational exposure to leather goods workshops, internships or school-based project work is advantageous but not mandatory.
Education
BTS or Licence (Bachelor) in modelmaking, patternmaking, leather goods manufacture, or equivalent vocational training.
