Role & Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the Canada merchandising strategy across all product categories, aligned with global brand direction and local market needs.
  • Own seasonal and ongoing category plans including assortment architecture, launch strategy and lifecycle management for stores and e‑commerce.
  • Manage local buying for Canada: selection, forecasting, allocation and budget construction by store and category, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
  • Lead digital trading and e‑merchandising: online assortment, product ranking, navigation, onsite storytelling and conversion levers.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Retail, Visual Merchandising, Communications, Digital, Supply Chain and Finance to deliver go‑to‑market plans and campaign integration.
  • Translate client insights, competitive intelligence and store feedback into commercial priorities and actionable recommendations.
  • Monitor post-launch performance, drive course-correction actions and manage inventory strategy to maximise availability while protecting stock efficiency and health.
  • Build business cases for local opportunities (exclusives, regional assortments, replenishment depth) and propose media/social media plans to zone partners.
  • Establish trading rhythms (weekly/monthly reporting, launch readiness, executive reviews) and co-develop training to build retailer product knowledge.
  • Lead, coach and develop one direct report and inspire the wider team around product categories and commercial objectives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of merchandising experience in a retail market environment; multi-category experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record driving commercial growth across stores and digital, with demonstrable e‑merchandising and trading expertise.
  • Hands-on buying and forecasting experience with strong inventory optimization capability.
  • Excellent cross-functional influencing skills and experience partnering with Retail, Supply Chain, Digital, Communications and Finance.
  • Analytical, client-centric mindset with strong commercial judgment and executive-level communication skills.
  • Demonstrated people leadership and experience developing high-performing teams.

Experience
