La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, encompassing the watchmaking expertise of three prestigious maisons (Louis Vuitton, Gérald Genta, and Daniel Roth), seeks an exceptionally skilled Master Engraver with a minimum of 10 years' experience in horological engraving. The candidate will join the Métiers d'Art workshop to execute advanced hand-engraving techniques on fine watch components, including modeling, bas-relief, high-relief, chasing, intaglio, lettering, and decorative finishing on dials, cases, movements, bridges, and castings. This role demands mastery of both traditional artisanal craft and contemporary technical interpretation, with responsibility for quality control, knowledge transfer within the team, and active problem-solving in an environment blending heritage technique with innovation.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Master all engraving techniques independently, including modeling, bas-relief, high-relief, chasing, intaglio, lettering, and decorative and finishing work, adapted to production requirements and unique pieces
  • Execute hand-engraved work on watch components including dials, cases, movements, bridges, castings, and laser-marked surfaces with precision and consistency
  • Interpret aesthetic and technical drawings, translating specifications into engraved designs that meet quality standards, cost targets, and delivery deadlines
  • Share expertise and exchange technical knowledge with colleagues across production islands, establishing and maintaining quality standards for small-batch components
  • Mentor and train junior engravers, fostering knowledge transfer and collective skill development within the engraving team
  • Identify and resolve technical issues through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
  • Maintain adherence to established operating procedures, quality standards, and workshop safety protocols
  • Perform self-inspection and quality control of completed work

Qualifications

  • Formal training in engraving (Swiss AFP diploma, CFC certification, or equivalent qualification)
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in horological engraving
  • Mastery of volume engraving and sculpture techniques, with demonstrated experience in stone work and glyptics
  • Advanced technical drawing interpretation and plan-reading capability
  • Autonomous command of all engraving techniques and comprehensive knowledge of material properties
  • Demonstrated artistic sensitivity, aesthetic refinement, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to perform detailed technical problem analysis and propose proactive solutions
