Louis Vuitton — Logistics Specialist (16-month contract) in Seoul. Temporary on-site role managing import, customs compliance and inbound logistics.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage inbound transportation of merchandising shipments to ensure timely, end-to-end delivery and coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders and 3PL partners.
- Investigate and resolve bonded-transportation issues, missing or damaged cartons, and offloaded shipments; initiate and manage cargo claims with airlines, 3PLs or forwarders as required.
- Prepare and submit CITES/WILD permits for restricted products and track ETA; oversee ATA Carnet issuance and related export formalities.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance for import entries according to split rules, maintain correct HS code classification and apply FTA preferential rates where applicable.
- Perform monthly duty & VAT assessments by category, verify duty/VAT savings, and manage monthly duty, VAT and vendor payment processes including bi-weekly intercompany settlements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments for import customs clearance in partnership with the customs broker and monitor broker performance to ensure entry accuracy and service quality.
- Review inbound processes to identify lead-time improvements, monitor in-transit orders and liaise with HQ to ensure order execution.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years' experience in inbound logistics, preferably within retail or consumer goods.
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Strong command of English (spoken and written).
- Proven knowledge of import regulations, customs procedures and classification (HS codes).
- Experience with SAP and familiarity with freight forwarding, bonded transport and 3PL operations.
- Ability to manage claims, permits (CITES/WILD) and ATA Carnet procedures; adaptable and quick learner.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on inbound logistics experience, including import customs clearance, coordination with freight forwarders/3PLs and management of regulatory permits and claims. Retail experience is preferred but not mandatory.
