Louis Vuitton seeks experienced Leather Sorting Coordinator in Florence, Italy to lead multi-country team of quality specialists.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a cross-national team of 10 leather sorters across six locations in Italy, two in Spain, and two in France
- Coach and mentor team members on technical sorting standards, pedagogical approaches, and international best practices for both classic and exotic leathers
- Act as the central point of contact and facilitator between sorters and internal stakeholders including the Materials Hub, Leather Division, production sites, cutting workshops, and tanneries
- Streamline the communication of technical specifications, material alerts, and inspection guidelines across multiple sites and international partners
- Analyze sorting data, quality indicators, selection rates, and workshop feedback to identify performance trends and improvement opportunities
- Report key performance indicators to senior management and develop corrective action plans grounded in measurable data
- Initiate and champion continuous improvement initiatives and calibration campaigns to optimize control methodologies, sorting techniques, and material usability
- Implement and harmonize quality standards across international locations
- Participate in projects related to the evolution of quality tools and industry standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years specializing in material quality, leather sorting, or cutting operations
- Proven expertise in both classic and exotic leather characteristics, grading, and quality assessment
- Demonstrated success in multi-site or remote team leadership within a structured organizational environment
- Proficiency in quality management tools and tannery inspection methodologies
- Strong data analysis capability with proven ability to structure and interpret performance indicators
Skills
Experience
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in material quality or leather operations, with at least 5 years of specialized expertise in leather sorting or cutting within the luxury sector. Successful track record of leading multi-site or remote teams in a complex, regulated environment is essential.
Education
Higher education qualification (preferably in materials science, quality management, supply chain, or a related discipline)
