Role & Responsibilities
- Evaluate leather materials and identify characteristics, defects, and quality deviations
- Calculate and optimize leather material consumption in compliance with established specifications
- Perform hand and machine cutting of leather and supplementary materials as needed
- Conduct site visits to tanneries to select premium leather stocks
- Maintain accurate documentation of material assessments and consumption metrics
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a leather selection specialist or materials assessor in footwear manufacturing or artisanal shoe laboratories
- Proficiency in footwear construction principles and leather cutting techniques
