Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform and document laboratory tests and statistical controls on raw materials according to defined protocols to verify compliance with product specifications.
  • Evaluate and interpret test results, reporting findings promptly to design, sourcing and production stakeholders to support decisions and corrective actions.
  • Monitor material non-conformities and trends; anticipate potential performance deviations and recommend preventive measures.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and execute in-depth testing in response to quality alerts to accelerate resolution and limit production impact.
  • Maintain, calibrate and oversee the reliability of laboratory testing equipment; coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Update and refine testing standards, protocols and acceptance criteria to reduce approval cycles for new products and improve reproducibility.
  • Participate in inter-laboratory cross-testing campaigns and support laboratory re-accreditation activities.
  • Contribute to supplier quality assurance initiatives, supporting onboarding of supplier testing and aligning quality expectations across the supply chain.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in laboratory quality control and hands-on use of testing equipment, preferably within materials, leather goods, textiles or fashion manufacturing.
  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in Materials Science, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Textile Engineering or a closely related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Demonstrated precision, rigor and strong analytical judgement with capacity to prioritise multiple test programs.
  • Proven experience using laboratory monitoring systems such as Skylims.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with SAP is a strong advantage.
  • Good command of English; French language skills preferred.

Experience
