Louis Vuitton — Inbound Logistics Specialist (16-month temporary) in Seoul. Manage import shipments, customs compliance and vendor coordination.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage inbound transportation of merchandising shipments to ensure smooth end-to-end delivery and adherence to timelines.
- Resolve bonded-transportation issues, missing or damaged cartons, and offloaded shipments; initiate claims with airlines, 3PLs or forwarders as required.
- Prepare and submit CITES/WILD permits for restricted products and monitor permit ETAs.
- Manage special consumption tax exemption procedures and oversee ATA Carnet issuance and related export processes.
- Ensure import-entry compliance with split rules, maintain correct HS classification and apply FTA preferential rates where applicable.
- Review and prepare documentation for customs audits; verify monthly duty and VAT savings and perform category-level VAT/duty assessments.
- Conduct regular risk assessments for import customs clearance in coordination with customs brokers and monitor broker performance for accuracy and service quality.
- Monitor in-transit orders, liaise with HQ to ensure execution, and review inbound processes to identify lead-time improvements.
- Coordinate monthly financial close activities related to duty & VAT, vendor payments and bi-weekly intercompany payments.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of inbound logistics experience.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) or higher.
- Demonstrable knowledge of import/export regulations, HS classification and customs compliance.
- Experience with customs documentation processes including CITES, ATA Carnet and FTA origin claims.
- Proven competence in vendor and 3PL management and in conducting risk assessments for customs clearance.
- Retail logistics experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Good command of English and strong interpersonal skills; open-minded and a fast learner.
