Louis Vuitton in Venice seeks a Footwear Processes Buyer to manage sourcing and supplier negotiations for finishing processes (HF, screen printing, embroidery).

Role & Responsibilities

  • Negotiate commercial terms and contracts for the assigned category (prices, delivery terms, lead times, capacity, investments) to secure competitive, reliable supply.
  • Define and propose framework purchase orders and contractual arrangements in coordination with the Purchasing Manager; maintain and update seasonal/raw-material commitments based on forecasts.
  • Source and qualify new suppliers through capacity, reliability, quality and growth potential assessments to mitigate supply risk.
  • Evaluate suppliers on technical capability, production organisation, confidentiality, innovation potential and compliance with group purchasing standards.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with Corporate Social Responsibility requirements, the group’s code of ethics and general purchasing terms.
  • Plan purchases at a macro level so order issuance aligns with business needs, budgetary constraints and finished-goods pricing policies.
  • Collaborate with quality control, industrial development and procurement teams to prevent delivery delays; intervene directly in critical situations to resolve supply disruptions.

Qualifications

  • Degree in economics, business, law or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience in footwear purchasing; preferably 5+ years handling footwear processes and external finishing.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of footwear processes and materials, including HF (hot-fix), screen printing/serigraphy and embroidery.
  • Demonstrable negotiation skills with experience drafting and managing framework contracts and supplier agreements.
  • Autonomy, proactivity and the ability to make prompt, commercially sound decisions.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
  • Strong command of standard business software and procurement applications.
  • Good knowledge of French and/or English.
