Louis Vuitton in Paris seeks a Diamond Buyer (Gemmologist) to lead diamond procurement for Jewellery & High‑Jewellery collections.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead purchasing and quality control of diamonds for Jewellery and High‑Jewellery collections, ensuring conformity with the maison’s diamond specifications (cahier des charges).
- Prepare diamond quotations (center stones, fancy cuts, TSP/TSO, pavé) and manage end‑to‑end supplier orders.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Creation Studio, Industrial, Marketing, Merchandising and Finance to align purchasing with collection development and production plans.
- Build and execute production sourcing plans: forecast requirements, place and follow orders, monitor supplier capacities and allocations.
- Manage and develop the supplier panel, driving performance, compliance and commercial terms.
- Establish and update diamond pricing, perform procurement performance analysis and conduct market/competitive intelligence.
- Contribute to group compliance policy deployment and the design of cross‑functional tools to improve the Stones Service (continuous improvement).
Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in gemmology.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience overall, including at least 3 years within a stones/diamonds department (service pierres).
- Proven experience in diamond sourcing, supplier management and production‑oriented procurement for jewellery.
- Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen to manage pricing and supplier performance.
