The atelier combines traditional haute-artisanat enamelling and miniature painting with contemporary watchmaking standards, producing high-end, hand-finished dials for Louis Vuitton's watch collections.
Louis Vuitton — Dial Enameller in Geneva. La Fabrique du Temps seeks a full-time, permanent enameller for hand-finished watch dials.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare and research materials, colour palettes and application approaches for enamel and miniature-painted dials.
- Develop and refine colour formulations and enamelling recipes in collaboration with the creation studio.
- Execute traditional enamelling techniques including champlevé, cloisonné, plique-à-jour and grisaille de Limoges, and perform miniature enamel painting (émail sous fondant / Geneva technique) on watch dials.
- Master and apply miniature painting application methods to reproduce studio specifications with fidelity.
- Autonomously manage kiln firings (cuissons), lapping/lapidage and polishing cycles to achieve required surface and dimensional quality.
- Perform aesthetic and dimensional self-inspections and deliver finished pieces that conform to the creation studio's brief and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' professional experience in enamelling and/or miniature painting, preferably within watchmaking or high-end métiers d'art.
- Demonstrable command of a wide range of enamelling techniques and experience producing hand-painted watch dials to exacting tolerances.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes in a precision environment and mastery of 2D and 3D volumetric work.
- Proven autonomy, problem-solving ability and rigorous attention to detail; ability to propose process or quality improvements.
- Strong interpersonal skills: teamwork, constructive communication, benevolence and alignment with a craft-oriented corporate culture.
- Diploma in métiers d'art or equivalent artisanal qualification is a strong advantage; formal watchmaking training is a plus.
