Louis Vuitton Shanghai seeks an experienced Customs Manager to lead import/export compliance and logistics vendor management for LV China operations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage third-party logistics providers, brokers, and forwarding companies to sustain LV China business growth through risk assessment, flexible solutions, and strategic vendor performance optimization
  • Monitor all nodes of the import/export logistics process from order creation through customs clearance to warehouse arrival, ensuring adherence to lead time and service quality standards
  • Coordinate communications between brokers, forwarders, shippers, and customers to resolve logistics challenges and expedite clearance of special cases
  • Verify import/export declaration data and original customs documentation; hand over verified records to Finance department following each importation
  • Collaborate with customs brokers to obtain and manage CITES and certificate-of-origin licenses; coordinate CITES card management with retail teams
  • Process timely import duty payments and ensure all certifications comply with AEO policy requirements
  • Review monthly import/export data and operational performance; generate comprehensive logistics reports and monitor vendor billing against company guidelines
  • Conduct product training with brokers to ensure accurate HS code classification; maintain and verify HS code database for consistency and accuracy
  • Manage specialized import/export projects including temporary shipments (ATA, TIB), store opening logistics, special retail and high-jewelry events
  • Maintain and enhance Customs AA-class status through rigorous compliance and documentation practices

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of customs, import/export, or logistics compliance experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in Chinese customs regulations, AEO policies, and international trade documentation
  • Proven experience managing third-party logistics vendors and customs brokers
  • Strong knowledge of HS classification systems and CITES/certificate-of-origin requirements
  • Experience in luxury goods or high-value merchandise import/export preferred
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese required

Experience
