Role & Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and negotiate construction documentation, including contractor, architect, consulting and services agreements (including AIA documents).
  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial facilities service agreements and other vendor contracts supporting store operations.
  • Draft, review and negotiate retail lease‑related documents: leases, subleases, assignments, amendments, renewals, surrenders, releases, access and termination agreements.
  • Prepare and negotiate office leases, licenses and short‑term location agreements for pop‑ups and events.
  • Review and negotiate SNDAs (subordination, non‑disturbance and attornment agreements) and estoppel certificates.
  • Manage insurance claims and related documentation, coordinating with paralegals and risk teams.
  • Provide pragmatic legal advice to support store openings, remodels and the Americas real estate portfolio; anticipate legal risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admitted to practice in New York State, in good standing.
  • Minimum 4+ years of transactional real estate legal experience in a law firm or a combination of law firm and in‑house corporate settings; in‑house experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate complex construction and commercial agreements, including familiarity with AIA forms.
  • Strong commercial judgment, meticulous attention to detail and capacity to manage a high volume of concurrent matters and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client‑facing skills; ability to work independently and within cross‑functional teams.
