Louis Vuitton Components Development Engineer position in Paris. Manage product component development for men's ready-to-wear collections.
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee and launch component development for each seasonal collection
- Maintain daily coordination with studio, product managers, procurement, production, and external suppliers
- Monitor studio approvals within strict timelines
- Rationalize seasonal offerings with the design studio across all component categories
- Ensure adherence to development budgets and delivery schedules for orders
- Execute seasonal purchasing of new components and permanent component stock
- Create component coding and product specifications in PLM systems for new developments, carry-overs, and permanent items
- Coordinate material and component shipments to manufacturing sites with inventory management
- Manage supplier portfolio with focus on viable, reliable partners capable of meeting collection and production volumes at target costs
- Support sustainability strategy by developing durable components while maintaining cost, production timeline, and quality standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree + 4 to 5 years of study in fashion/textile engineering or equivalent university qualification
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in fashion sector focused on product and component development
- Strong understanding of luxury brand positioning and aesthetics
- Knowledge of Italian and French component suppliers and development capabilities
- Demonstrated adaptability, attention to detail, and initiative-taking
- Ability to prioritize effectively and work collaboratively across multiple departments
- Strong relationship-building and cross-functional communication skills
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in fashion-focused product and component development, with demonstrated expertise in supplier coordination, seasonal purchasing, and collection management for ready-to-wear apparel. Prior experience with Italian and French component suppliers is advantageous.
Education
Bachelor's degree (Bac+4/5) from a business school, textile engineering school, or equivalent university program in fashion, materials science, or related field.
