The Textile Washing Operator works in the Washing and Ironing department, collaborating with the manager to ensure efficient washing operations that meet company standards, timelines and quality requirements. The role supports the production of finished goods at the facility and is permanent, full-time and on site.
Role & Responsibilities
- Works with the department manager to optimise processes.
- Performs manual tasks, including loading and unloading machines and operating industrial washing machines, to develop an in-depth understanding of the department’s operational activities.
- Develops and shares specialist knowledge of the effects of fulling products on different natural fibres during thermal washing and drying cycles.
- Monitors work quality to ensure it meets the required standards.
- Manages daily activities within established timelines to maintain operational efficiency.
- Uses company IT systems to manage departmental data and workflows.
- Proposes procedural or technical improvements.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the textile sector, preferably knitwear.
- Good working knowledge of IT systems.
- Excellent organisational and management skills, particularly in managing time and priorities.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Leadership aptitude.
- Knowledge of the effects of fulling products on natural fibres is an advantage.
- At least 5 years of previous experience in the textile sector is preferred.
