Loro Piana in Tokyo seeks a Store Planning Project Manager to lead boutique development, construction and delivery.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end store planning projects in Japan, from location due-diligence and feasibility studies through layout definition, construction and final store delivery.
- Manage technical, time, cost and quality control across projects; prepare budgets, control bidding processes, track spending variations and produce forecasts in collaboration with Finance.
- Supervise and coordinate all architectural and construction activities for new boutiques and renovations, ensuring adherence to corporate design guidelines and local regulations.
- Hire, brief and lead external consultants and vendors (local architects, M&E engineers, contractors, external design consultants, landlords) and act as primary point of contact for all professional representatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Retail, Product, Finance, Legal, Visual Merchandising, Procurement, IT and Loss Prevention to integrate commercial requirements and operational readiness.
- Oversee procurement, logistics and administrative aspects tied to store projects, working with HQ Procurement on vendor selection and contract finalization.
- Manage project scheduling, mock-ups, inspections and on-site quality assurance; resolve construction issues and enforce technical standards.
- Maintain post‑opening relationships with store teams and stakeholders to preserve aesthetic integrity and operational functionality.
Qualifications
- Degree in Architecture or a related engineering discipline (university degree or equivalent).
- 7–8 years of progressive project management experience in retail, preferably within an international luxury house or at comparable complexity.
- Proven track record in retail construction management, including interpreting architectural drawings and construction documentation.
- Familiarity with indirect procurement processes and experience collaborating with Procurement departments on vendor selection and contracts.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, prioritization and decision‑making skills with an ability to operate independently under tight deadlines.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented and able to balance creative design intent with rigorous project controls.
- Excellent written and spoken English; willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

7–8 years of applicable retail project management experience within a comparable international luxury company or equivalent complexity, with demonstrable experience in retail construction and vendor management.
Education
University degree in Architecture or a related Engineering field (or equivalent).
