Role & Responsibilities
- Manage QC teams and coordinate internal and external resources for material testing operations
- Participate in collection material presentations led by LG&SHOES leather engineering; relay technical specifications and preseries launch requirements
- Validate preseries materials with respective engineering departments and support the establishment of reference standards and color tolerances
- Plan testing schedules and manage relationships with external service suppliers
- Monitor and verify testing outcomes against defined specifications; intervene in cases of anomalies and non-conformities
- Execute material testing and ensure accurate data recording within system
- Analyze QC performance indicators and escalate findings as appropriate
- Participate in cross-functional problem-solving sessions
- Conduct periodic audits of testing workstations at vendor facilities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in QC processes
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in leather and luxury material processing
- Comprehensive knowledge of raw material lifecycle, particularly tanning processes
- Expertise in suede, reversed, and premium leather types in addition to smooth calfskin
- Strong proficiency with computer systems, reporting tools, data analysis, and presentation software
- Fluent in written and spoken English; French language skills preferred

Minimum 10 years of professional experience in leather processing, material engineering, quality control, or related disciplines within the luxury goods sector.
Education
Technical education or professional qualifications in materials science, leather technology, or quality management preferred; equivalent professional experience in luxury material sourcing and QC operations acceptable.

This position is based in Impruneta, Tuscany, Italy, within easy reach of Florence.
Compensation
The base compensation for this position is EUR 65,000 per annum.
