Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the quality control testing team, including coordination between internal and external resources
- Participate in new material collection presentations led by leather engineering teams, communicating specification updates, standard advancement requests, and pre-series launch initiatives
- Validate pre-series materials with relevant engineering departments and support the development of applicable tolerances and reference standards
- Schedule testing activities and manage relationships with external service providers
- Monitor and verify test results in accordance with defined specifications; intervene in cases of non-conformance and manage anomaly escalation
- Execute material testing protocols and ensure accurate system data recording
- Analyze and interpret quality control performance indicators, escalating concerns as necessary
- Participate in cross-functional problem-solving forums
- Conduct periodic compliance audits of testing facilities at vendor locations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the quality control function
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in luxury leather production, tanning engineering, cutting, or quality control
- Comprehensive knowledge of the full material lifecycle, particularly tanning and processing methodologies
- Expertise in suede, nubuck, and premium hide characteristics in addition to smooth calf leather
- Advanced proficiency with standard business software tools for reporting, data analysis, and presentations
- Fluent English (written and spoken); French language skills preferred
