Loro Piana seeks Raw Material QC Manager in Impruneta, Italy. Lead luxury leather testing & validation. 10+ yrs experience required.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the raw materials testing team, balancing internal and external resources
  • Participate in new leather collection presentation meetings with LG&SHOES material engineering teams to exchange information, coordinate material refinement, and approve pre-series launches
  • Validate pre-series leather samples in collaboration with respective engineering teams and support the creation and calibration of quality standards and tolerances (e.g., colour master standards)
  • Plan and schedule all testing protocols and manage external service supplier relationships
  • Monitor and verify test results against defined specifications, escalate critical deviations, and coordinate anomaly resolution
  • Execute raw material testing procedures and ensure accurate data recording within enterprise systems
  • Analyse testing performance indicators and escalate trends requiring management intervention
  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving sessions and root cause analysis
  • Conduct periodic compliance audits of vendor testing facilities
  • Drive continuous improvement programmes across material testing operations

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in luxury leather supply chain or material engineering
  • Deep understanding of the complete leather production lifecycle, particularly tanning and finishing processes
  • Advanced knowledge of suede, reversed leather, and fine leather grades beyond standard smooth calf
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality control, materials science, or leather processing
  • Proficiency with business intelligence and data analysis tools
  • Excellent presentation and documentation capabilities
