Loro Piana seeks Merchandising Manager for Women's categories in Tokyo, Japan. Lead merchandising strategy, buying, and retail performance across luxury fashion categories.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Drive merchandising and business performance across Women's Leather Goods, Shoes, Small Leather Goods, Lifestyle, and Sunglasses categories, maximizing sales, sell-through, and category growth
  • Execute seasonal buying within budget parameters, participating in buying sessions at headquarters and developing assortments tailored to the Japanese market's specific needs
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance, sell-through rates, inventory levels, and product metrics, recommending reorders, stock reallocations, and strategic actions to optimize business opportunities
  • Coordinate product deliveries from local wholesale partners and liaise closely with headquarters product teams, logistics departments, and merchandising planners to ensure timely execution
  • Develop and execute product launch strategies and seasonal commercial initiatives to maximize product performance and market penetration
  • Conduct comprehensive product and competitor analysis, providing actionable insights and recommendations to headquarters to inform future collection development
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with retail merchandising, visual merchandising, communications, and training teams to ensure consistent product knowledge and successful in-store execution
  • Support the Women's Merchandising Director in business analysis, reporting, and cross-functional merchandising projects whilst executing the overarching merchandising strategy for the Women's business

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar merchandising role, preferably with demonstrated expertise in Women's categories including accessories, shoes, and bags
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret sales, sell-through, inventory, and market data and translate findings into concrete business actions
  • Solid project management skills including prioritization, organization, follow-up, and the ability to manage multiple topics and workstreams simultaneously
  • Relevant experience and understanding of store operational needs, client expectations, and in-store execution requirements
  • Deep appreciation for luxury products, craftsmanship, clothing history, and the Loro Piana brand identity and heritage
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to work effectively with teams across local and global locations
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, self-motivated, and passionate about luxury merchandise and brand values
