Loro Piana in Quarona, Italy seeks a Manufacturing Process Engineer to optimise spinning operations and lead Lean improvements.
Role & Responsibilities
- Map and analyse end‑to‑end spinning processes (VSM), identify bottlenecks and drive optimisation initiatives such as SMED, standard work and WIP reduction.
- Measure, report and interpret process KPIs (OEE, scrap rates, cycle times, yields) to support data‑driven improvements.
- Define technical requirements, specifications and acceptance criteria for CAPEX proposals and support equipment selection and project implementation.
- Lead daily shop‑floor meetings to align on production performance, quality, safety, maintenance activities and short‑term planning.
- Plan and execute pilot runs and industrialisation trials for new yarns and processes, setting parameters and recipes across preparation, carding, spinning, winding and steaming.
- Develop, maintain and enforce clear operating procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the department.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, Planning, Quality, Maintenance, HSE, Finance and IT to enable change management and digital integration.
- Train and coach line leaders and operators on Lean methodologies, process standards and problem‑solving techniques (Gemba presence).
- Partner with IT and system integrators to integrate process data into MES/IoT platforms and ensure traceability of process parameters.
- Ensure HSE and regulatory compliance in process changes, including Machinery Directive conformity where applicable.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Production, Management Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Process Engineering or Continuous Improvement within manufacturing engineering teams; textile spinning experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge and practical application of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead industrialisation trials and to translate product requirements into robust process parameters.
- Fluent Italian and English (C1); working knowledge of French is a plus.

Experience
At least 3 years in process engineering or continuous improvement within structured manufacturing environments; prior exposure to spinning (carded/combed) or textile production is preferred.
Education
Master's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Production, Management Engineering or a closely related field.
