Loro Piana seeks a Leather Goods Preparation Specialist in Impruneta, Tuscany, preparing luxury handbags from fine leathers.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Prepare handbags independently, including those made from fine leathers.
  • Read and interpret pattern-making instructions.
  • Perform leather splitting, skiving and cutting.
  • Apply adhesive by spray and latex methods.
  • Set up and arrange the machinery used.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience preparing handbags in fine and other leathers.
  • Knowledge of handbag preparation techniques for the luxury women’s and men’s segments.
  • Excellent knowledge of fine leathers, particularly crocodile leather with and without agatatura.
  • Established knowledge of leather goods materials, machinery and products.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to pass on know-how to trainees.
  • Accuracy and a sense of responsibility.
