Loro Piana in Impruneta seeks a Leather Colorist — full-time role in Tuscany applying dyes and finishes to luxury handbags.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute sanding (scartatura) and brushing (spazzolatura) of bag edges/‘costole’ to prepare surfaces for finishing.
- Apply final color and finish to edges and components by hand and using dyeing/finishing machinery, ensuring uniformity and adherence to luxury standards.
- Operate and maintain colouration machines and hand-finishing tools, ensuring consistent performance and safety.
- Conduct strict quality control and colour matching checks, rejecting or reworking items that do not meet specification.
- Document processes, maintain an orderly workstation and follow all production and safety procedures.
- Coach and transfer technical knowledge to junior colleagues and apprentices; support on-the-job training.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years of demonstrable experience as a colourist/finisher on luxury leather goods.
- Deep knowledge of high-end leathers, with particular experience working on exotic skins such as crocodile.
- Proven mastery of hand and machine dyeing/coloring techniques specific to premium handbags for both women’s and men’s collections.
- Familiarity with leather goods production processes and finishing machinery.
- Strong attention to detail, precision and a sense of responsibility in a high-quality production environment.
- Good interpersonal skills and willingness to train less experienced team members.

Education
Vocational qualification in leather goods, artisanal craft or related manufacturing discipline, or equivalent on-the-job training and experience.
