Role & Responsibilities
- Independently develop and compile programs for electronic flat-knitting machines (Shima) to produce knitted uppers and fully fashioned knitwear.
- Create and refine stitch patterns and new knit points, translating design intent into machine-executable programs.
- Use advanced programming packages (Paint Color, Free Color) and software tools (SDS One APEX, Shaping Knit Paint, DSCS) to design intarsia and jacquard effects.
- Collaborate closely with Pattern Engineering (Modelleria) and Sewing/Assembly teams to ensure design feasibility and high-quality execution.
- Supervise run-off, defect analysis and industrialization phases; manage and implement corrective modifications to programs and specifications.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' direct experience programming electronic knitting machines for apparel or footwear production.
- Deep knowledge of knitwear construction, stitch development and luxury textile materials.
- Proven mastery of SDS One APEX (3.3/3.4) and experience with Paint Color and Free Color packages.
- Experience with DSCS and Shaping Knit Paint for creating intarsia and jacquard effects.
- Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, proactivity and aptitude for collaborative teamwork.

Experience
At least 5 years of hands-on experience programming electronic knitting machines (preferably Shima Seiki) within luxury knitwear or footwear production, including advanced patterning and industrialization.
Education
Technical diploma or degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, Knitwear Technology, or equivalent vocational training in textiles or apparel manufacturing.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Sillavengo, Piedmont, Italy, with easy access to Milan.
