Role & Responsibilities

  • Operate and supervise carding machines across assigned shifts, ensuring continuous, safe production.
  • Set up and adjust carding machine parameters for each article to meet product specifications and production targets.
  • Monitor in‑process and final quality of carded sliver; identify defects and implement corrective actions to maintain quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the production technologist and carding team to optimise processes and transfer technical knowledge.
  • Perform routine mechanical checks and basic troubleshooting on carding equipment; escalate maintenance issues to the technical team.
  • Maintain accurate production records, shift handovers and comply with health, safety and housekeeping protocols.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience operating carding machinery in spinning/textile production, preferably with animal fibres (wool, cashmere).
  • Practical knowledge of carded spinning processes, fiber characteristics and raw material behaviour.
  • Ability to interpret and apply machine settings and carding instructions for different articles and fibre types.
  • Proven track record of working effectively with production technologists and multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with textile production safety standards.

Experience
