Loro Piana seeks a CAD Specialist in Borgosesia, Italy — contract role managing CAD pattern development and PLM data for luxury apparel.
Role & Responsibilities
- Calculate and verify material consumption (fabrics, linings, leather, etc.) using sample placements produced internally or received from external laboratories.
- Validate, certify and enter material-consumption data into the Bill of Materials within the PLM system.
- Manage the Costing phase for samples: distribute Bills of Materials to laboratories and resolve issues raised (material quality, width, shrinkage).
- Archive and maintain sample and production pattern libraries.
- Import internal pattern files for samples and production into the CAD system following any reworks or corrections.
- Develop size grading for assigned styles (men's, women's and children's) on CAD according to company size charts.
- Compile and verify measurement tables for all sizes in production, ensuring consistency with company standards via the PLM.
- Create sample and production marker layouts (piazzamenti) using CAD for efficient material usage.
Qualifications
- Technical diploma with specialization in fashion, patternmaking or garment technology.
- Minimum three years' experience in a CAD or technical development role within apparel or leather goods.
- Proven proficiency with CAD systems; CREA Solution experience preferred.
- Solid experience working with PLM systems for BOM and measurement data entry.
- Strong analytical skills, planning ability and deadline management.
- Effective teamworking and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Good command of English.

Experience
At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in CAD pattern development, grading and technical data management within apparel or leather goods; experience in a luxury fashion environment is advantageous.
Education
Diploma from a technical institute with an emphasis on modelling/patternmaking or equivalent vocational qualification.
