L’Oréal Luxe is the L’Oréal division responsible for luxury fragrance, makeup and skincare. It operates beauty houses including Lancôme, Kiehl’s and Aesop, and develops products under licence for fashion houses including Prada and Giorgio Armani.
The Travel Retail Manager, based in L’Oréal’s Melbourne office, leads retail excellence and sell-out performance for skincare brands across airport duty-free locations in Australia and New Zealand, reporting to the Area Manager. The role involves frequent regional travel and responsibility for commercial partnerships, Beauty Advisor development, retail activations, stock, budgets and market insights. Permanent, full-time position.
Role & Responsibilities
- Drive sell-out targets, regional market share and commercial growth across designated skincare counters.
- Build commercial partnerships with travel retail operators to negotiate promotional space, expand distribution and uphold brand image.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Visual Merchandising and Digital teams to deliver online and offline retail activations.
- Recruit, coach and motivate Beauty Advisors, set point-of-sale objectives and foster an inclusive, high-performing field culture.
- Partner with the Education team to implement training programmes and use mystery shopping feedback to improve service quality.
- Monitor stock levels, track operational budgets and relay customer and competitor intelligence to regional leadership.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to drive sell-out growth, uphold merchandising standards and deliver effective retail execution in high-traffic travel environments.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building capabilities with airport commercial partners and internal cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record in coaching, onboarding and empowering field teams and Beauty Advisors.
- Confident analysing sales performance, managing stock flow and translating insights into concrete retail action plans.
- Ability to manage budgets, balance competing priorities and navigate frequent interstate and trans-Tasman travel.
