Role & Responsibilities
- Define and develop the women's category strategy (Leather Goods or RTW/Shoes) for the Japanese market, identifying growth levers beyond product — including retail, VM and marketing initiatives.
- Build seasonal buying and assortment strategies, including clustering to tailor assortments to individual store needs and managing local retail and marketing activations.
- Select and localize the Japanese assortment in close cooperation with the Paris merchandising team and translate HQ directives into market‑relevant product ranges.
- Drive sales and sell‑through targets across all seasons by identifying commercial opportunities and implementing actionable plans.
- Manage inventory performance through effective allocation, replenishment and remerchandising to optimise stock levels by store.
- Deliver structured, impactful collection training for store teams and cross‑functional partners to ensure correct product storytelling and conversion.
- Lead and develop the local women's merchandising team, coordinating with store specialists and cross‑functional stakeholders (Retail, VM, Marketing).
- Collaborate with the Visual Merchandising team to maintain creative but pragmatic in‑store presentation standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in merchandising, buying or category management within luxury retail, with demonstrated success in the Japanese market.
- Proven knowledge of womenswear, leather goods or shoes assortments and retail dynamics in Japan.
- Degree in a relevant discipline (business, fashion, merchandising or equivalent).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; confident presenter of ideas and commercial plans.
- Business‑level English and native‑level Japanese communication skills.

Experience
At least 5 years of relevant merchandising or buying experience in luxury retail, with strong familiarity with the Japanese consumer and retail landscape and experience liaising with international HQ merchandising teams.
Education
Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., business, fashion merchandising, or equivalent).
