LOEWE seeks a Retail Health & Safety Manager, Europe & Middle East in Madrid to lead H&S, security and maintenance across its retail network.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive health & safety programmes for retail stores across Europe and the Middle East, ensuring alignment with internal policies and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, store inspections and H&S audits (including general, fire, psychosocial and ergonomic risks) and drive corrective action plans to closure.
  • Design, deliver and coordinate training and awareness initiatives on safety protocols, emergency procedures, wellbeing and injury prevention for retail teams and leadership.
  • Manage incident reporting and investigation processes, determine root causes and implement preventive measures; maintain accurate H&S records and legal compliance reports.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for retail H&S enquiries and represent the company in local H&S committees and with regulatory bodies and occupational healthcare providers.
  • Establish and embed a consistent maintenance management process for the store network, including intake, triage, prioritisation, escalation and tracking of facility issues.
  • Oversee supplier and contractor engagement for maintenance and compliance services, monitoring performance for efficiency, cost control and regulatory conformity.
  • Collaborate with Store Managers, Market Leaders, HR, Architecture and Security to resolve safety concerns and integrate security guidelines from the Global Security Department.
  • Develop and exercise emergency management plans and coordinate fire prevention measures; ensure stores are prepared for crises and business continuity scenarios.
  • Stay abreast of evolving H&S legislation and industry best practices and translate changes into pragmatic retail operations guidance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in health & safety at a comparable level, ideally within retail or a multi-site environment.
  • Relevant certifications or formal qualifications in occupational health & safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH or regional equivalents).
  • Proven ability to interpret legislation and provide authoritative legal and risk-management advice across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering H&S audits, investigations and structured remedial action plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with proven influence at store, regional and corporate levels.
  • Ability to travel regularly across Europe and the Middle East.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in occupational health & safety, environmental health, engineering, risk management or a related discipline; professional H&S certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) strongly preferred.
