LOEWE in Madrid seeks a Leather Development & Purchasing Manager to lead leather sourcing, industrialization and supplier negotiations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead industrial development of leathers to meet LOEWE quality standards, ensuring readiness for production.
  • Serve as the primary leather referent for Leather Goods production, coordinating closely with artisans and modelists.
  • Manage testing processes and execute master validations according to LOEWE quality protocols.
  • Upload and maintain materials technical data in the PLM system.
  • Plan and control development timelines to meet production deadlines.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers, including prices, lead times and compliance with LVMH contractual requirements.
  • Establish proactive risk analyses and resolve quality issues with suppliers.
  • Oversee countertyping of materials and manage related sample workflows.
  • Complete supplier creation documentation and ensure vendor onboarding requirements are fulfilled.

Qualifications

  • Minimum eight years' experience in leather development, purchasing or supplier management within luxury leather goods.
  • Deep technical knowledge of leather types, tanning processes and leather performance characteristics.
  • Proven track record negotiating with suppliers and managing commercial agreements and lead times.
  • Advanced command of Spanish and English; Italian and/or French are advantageous.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with PLM systems is a strong plus.

Experience

At least 8 years in leather development, industrialization or purchasing roles for luxury leather goods, with direct responsibility for supplier management, negotiation and quality control. Experience working within LVMH or similar luxury group procedures and contractual frameworks is highly desirable.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Leather Technology, Industrial Engineering, Fashion Technology or equivalent professional experience.
