The maison is recognised for an intellectual, craft-led approach to design and sustained investment in art, craft and culture under a strong creative direction.

LOEWE is hiring a Director of Store Planning — Americas in New York to lead store development, construction and facilities across the region.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end store development lifecycle across the Americas — site due diligence, design start-up, permitting, construction, punch-list and handover for freestanding stores, concessions, franchises, shop-in-shops, pop-ups and renovations.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules in coordination with the central team in Madrid; ensure on-time delivery within capex constraints and identify efficiencies for cost savings.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders (Retail, Wholesale, IT, VM, Finance, Logistics, HQ Architecture) to align local requirements with global design intent and deliverables.
  • Run the bidding and procurement process for consultants, general contractors and millwork vendors; appoint and manage local consultants including architect-of-record, lighting and code consultants.
  • Review construction and shop drawings for compliance with concept, codes and brand standards; perform periodic site inspections and produce status reports for local leadership and HQ.
  • Oversee facilities management for store environments — monitoring repairs, maintenance and performance of structure, MEP systems, millwork, furniture and façades; lead continuous improvement for timely, cost-effective service.
  • Own pre-opening operations and coordinate all activities required to turn over a store to retail operations.
  • Supervise and mentor the local facilities team to ensure best-in-class service delivery and rapid response to store needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in retail construction, store development or construction management, with demonstrated leadership of regional projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent professional qualification).
  • Proven track record delivering luxury or specialty retail and wholesale projects.
  • Experience preparing and managing project budgets, schedules and construction contracts.
  • Established relationships with local vendors, architects and engineering consultants.
  • Willingness and ability to travel ~40% domestically and internationally, often at short notice.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed global organisation.
