Le Labo seeks a Retail Specialist for its Fitzroy boutique to deliver the brand's distinctive in-store experience centred on hand-blended fragrances and personalized service. The role combines client engagement with laboratory responsibilities, requiring the incumbent to educate clients on fine perfumery, manage fragrance compounding and ingredient inventory, and cultivate authentic connections through thoughtful, conversation-driven service rather than aggressive sales tactics. This position demands someone who embodies the brand's philosophy of craftsmanship, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence while maintaining operational compliance and POS proficiency.

Role & Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming and immersive store environment that reflects Le Labo's luxury aesthetic and brand philosophy
• Share expert knowledge of fine perfumery, brand heritage, and fragrance collections to build genuine connections with clients
• Manage laboratory operations including compounding bespoke fragrances, controlling ingredient inventory, and meticulously labeling and boxing creations
• Build and maintain the client database through thoughtful information gathering to support personalized service
• Adhere to operational best practices, compliance protocols, and POS system guidelines
• Engage clients in authentic, meaningful conversations that transcend conventional retail scripts

Skills

Experience

Previous retail or hospitality experience in a luxury environment is preferred, particularly in beauty, fragrance, or similar high-touch industries. Experience with laboratory procedures or inventory management would be advantageous but is not required.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in fragrance, chemistry, or hospitality is a plus but not mandatory.
