Role & Responsibilities
- Welcome clients and assess their wine preferences and requirements
- Provide expert product recommendations and guide clients through the selection process with detailed product knowledge and tasting profiles
- Execute point-of-sale transactions and identify opportunities for complementary purchases to enhance customer value
- Maintain visual merchandising standards, oversee product replenishment, and ensure the wine department remains organized and aesthetically appealing
- Participate in pre-purchase tastings with winemakers and coordinate in-store tasting events for clientele
- Execute inventory management tasks, prepare purchase orders, and contribute to the operational continuity of the department
Qualifications
- Formal training or equivalent professional experience in wine expertise or sommelier certification
- Demonstrated ability to articulate wine knowledge and translate expertise into compelling client conversations
- Strong service orientation with commercial acumen and client-facing excellence
- Outstanding interpersonal capabilities and demonstrated collaborative strength within team environments
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in wine retail, wine sales, sommelier services, or equivalent wine-focused roles demonstrating advanced product knowledge and client advisory capability.
Education
Professional sommelier certification, wine expert diploma, or equivalent formal training in oenology and wine service is required or strongly preferred.
