Role & Responsibilities

  • Greet and assess client needs, recommending an extensive selection of wines and spirits with knowledgeable, compelling guidance that facilitates purchasing decisions and builds loyalty
  • Execute transactions at point of sale, identify cross-selling opportunities, and maintain transaction accuracy
  • Ensure the visual appeal and proper maintenance of the wine department through merchandising, restocking, cleaning, and strategic product placement
  • Participate in pre-purchase tastings with producers and conduct customer-facing tastings to showcase products and drive engagement
  • Manage daily operations including inventory counts, order preparation, and administrative tasks related to the wine section

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a wine specialist, sommelier, or equivalent role in a luxury retail or hospitality environment
  • Demonstrated mastery of wine and spirits product knowledge with ability to articulate tasting notes, terroir, and pairing recommendations
  • Strong sales acumen coupled with genuine enthusiasm for sharing expertise with clients
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with natural ability to build rapport with diverse clientele

Experience
