Wine Specialist (CDD) at La Grande Epicerie de Paris, luxury gourmet retailer. Contract positions available August 2026 in Paris.
Role & Responsibilities
- Greet clients and identify their preferences, recommending an extensive selection of wines and spirits
- Provide expert advice to guide purchase decisions, cross-sell complementary products, and build customer loyalty
- Process transactions at point of sale
- Maintain the visual appeal and organization of the wine section through merchandising, restocking, cleaning, and product highlighting
- Participate in pre-purchase tastings and wine-maker hosted tasting events; lead customer tastings as appropriate
- Support daily operations including inventory management and purchase order preparation
Qualifications
- Demonstrated equivalent training and/or professional experience as a sommelier or wine specialist
- Proven successful track record in a similar wine retail or hospitality role
- Strong consultative approach with ability to communicate product knowledge and personal expertise
- Service orientation and commercial acumen
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills

Entry-level candidates with equivalent training or professional background in wine retail, sommelier work, or hospitality may be considered; demonstrated success in a similar role is required.
Education
