La Grande Epicerie de Paris (Paris) is hiring a Seasonal Sales Associate — Gourmet Food (CDD, full-time) for the summer months.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Welcome and advise an upscale customer base, listening to needs and recommending products to maximise conversion and basket value.
  • Open and close the department: prepare displays, arrange deliveries, implement product placement and signage (balisage), and perform daily replenishment.
  • Monitor product freshness and sell-by/use-by dates; manage stock rotation and minimise shrinkage.
  • Conduct product presentations and tastings to stimulate complementary sales and deepen product knowledge among customers.
  • Maintain the commercial and sanitary standards of the department: cleaning, respect for hygiene rules, participation in inventories and daily housekeeping.
  • Animate the sales floor to create a dynamic shopping environment in coordination with the section manager.

Qualifications

  • First professional experience in gastronomy, gourmet retail or luxury foodservice preferred.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and proven interpersonal skills with an upscale clientele.
  • Keen interest in gastronomy and product-driven selling.
  • Energetic, responsive, curious, autonomous and able to work flexibly across tasks.
  • Availability during July and August for the summer contract.
  • Conversational English.
