La Grande Epicerie de Paris seeks a Purchasing Assistant internship in luxury gourmet retail, supporting own-brand product management and sourcing.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly commercial performance analysis, produce quantified range assessments, and propose corrective actions in coordination with product managers and brand leadership
  • Track new product development initiatives, supporting chefs de produit on recipes, packaging, and market launch
  • Participate in product sourcing activities and competitive market surveillance
  • Organize comparative tastings and oversee product selection protocols
  • Manage the development, maintenance, and printing coordination of product labels and packaging across graphic design, quality assurance, and production departments
  • Maintain comprehensive product documentation, including the master product book and packshot library
  • Develop product positioning materials and e-commerce content, collaborating with digital teams and creating in-store marketing arguments and point-of-sale materials
  • Assist in the preparation of supplier negotiations and attend select vendor meetings
  • Liaise across internal departments (Quality, Store Operations, Logistics) and external partners (suppliers, service providers)

  • Currently enrolled in a business school or food science program
  • First professional experience in product management or procurement
  • Passionate about gastronomy and specialty foods
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Rigorous, methodical, and organized approach to project management
