Le Bon Marché is seeking a Grocery Store Clerk for La Grande Epicerie de Paris in Paris. The full-time, permanent role covers product presentation and replenishment, stock and supplier follow-up, store upkeep, customer assistance and order preparation; the schedule is 35 hours per week.

Role & Responsibilities

• Set up and replenish assigned product categories.
• Monitor use-by and best-before dates and help manage product markdowns and losses.
• Help manage inventory and place orders.
• Handle supplier disputes and escalate them to the manager according to their severity.
• Check shelf labels, price tags and other signage, making any necessary updates.
• Assist with changes to the department layout.
• Help set up promotional displays.
• Participate in inventory counts and their preparation.
• Report any product irregularities.
• Set up and replenish another product category when required.
• Clean and maintain the department, equipment and storage areas.
• Follow hygiene and safety rules.
• Follow sorting and waste-management rules for cardboard and packaging.
• Help put away deliveries.
• Inform, direct and advise customers.
• Address customer objections or escalate disputes to the manager.
• Prepare product orders for the delivery or marketing departments.
• Stay informed about the department and store.

Qualifications

• Initial experience in a customer-facing role.
• Excellent customer service and commercial skills.
• Attentive to customers, with the ability to share product knowledge and enthusiasm.
• Dynamic, rigorous, organised and autonomous.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach.
• English proficiency is an advantage.
