Samaritaine, Paris seeks General Accountant for Finance team. DCG/DSCG, 5–6 years experience, IFRS/French GAAP, SAP, fluent English required.
Role & Responsibilities
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounting records by controlling inter-company account reconciliation
- Record all accounting documents and maintain general ledger accuracy through matching and account monitoring
- Prepare, analyze, and reconcile balance sheet accounts with particular attention to materiality and trend analysis
- Organize and oversee timely submission of accounting entries; produce monthly general balance, balance sheet, and income statement reports
- Record miscellaneous transactions and participate in quarterly close procedures, year-end accounts preparation, and statutory reporting
- Prepare and file tax declarations including VAT, DES, EMBI, Corporate Income Tax, CVAE, and C3S returns
- Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules; coordinate with external auditors on assigned scope
- Monitor evolving accounting standards, ensure proper IFRS and French GAAP compliance, and champion continuous improvement of accounting procedures and systems
Qualifications
- Diploma in Accounting (DCG, DSCG, or DEC) or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 5–6 years of professional accounting experience in comparable roles
- Demonstrated expertise in both French accounting standards and IFRS
- Proficiency with SAP or comparable enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Fluent operational English required
- Strong analytical and technical accounting competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and establish effective workflow sequencing
Skills
Experience
Minimum 5 to 6 years of accounting experience in substantively similar roles, ideally spanning both accounting firm and corporate environments. Thorough grounding in both French accounting standards and IFRS is essential.
Education
Superior Diploma in Accounting (DCG, DSCG, or equivalent DEC qualification)
