Le Bon Marché (La Grande Épicerie) — Paris: Part-time Checkout Host. 15h/week (Tue/Fri/Sat 15:30–20:30). Customer-service focused role.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Operate cash register: process sales transactions, handle multiple payment methods and ensure accurate till operation.
  • Perform daily cash management tasks including opening and closing tills, counting and reconciling cash floats.
  • Welcome, inform and advise clients with a polished, service-oriented approach consistent with the maison’s standards.
  • Bag and package purchases carefully, ensuring presentation and product integrity for luxury food items.
  • Escalate customer queries and exceptions to senior cashiers or floor managers and follow loss-prevention procedures.
  • Maintain a tidy, well-presented checkout area and support overall store presentation when required.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level; prior experience on tills or in retail checkout preferred.
  • Strong customer-service orientation with an eagerness to deliver a premium shopping experience.
  • Availability to work the scheduled shift pattern: Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, 15:30–20:30 (15 hours/week).
  • Clear spoken English; ability to communicate with international clientele.
  • Professional demeanour: punctuality, reliability, discretion and attention to detail.
  • Basic numeracy and trustworthiness for handling cash and transactions.
