La Prairie seeks a Retail Performance Manager in Tokyo to lead the business performance of assigned retail locations, translating Japan Retail strategy into store-level execution and driving sales, client experience and team development. The role oversees performance reviews, clienteling, brand execution and multi-location team coaching.
Role & Responsibilities
- Own the business performance of assigned retail locations, delivering sales, productivity and profitability objectives.
- Translate Japan Retail strategy into store-level priorities and action plans, driving execution through Counter Managers and Beauty Advisors.
- Define, cascade and monitor sales targets and key retail KPIs; identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct regular store visits and business reviews with Counter Managers to strengthen execution, productivity and accountability.
- Identify growth opportunities based on store performance, client potential, market trends and competitor activity.
- Drive clienteling, CRM, AOP/AOB, and client recruitment and retention to develop local and tourist business.
- Elevate La Prairie’s luxury client experience across assigned points of sale, ensuring excellence in the selling ceremony, consultation, clienteling and follow-up.
- Ensure consistent brand execution, visual merchandising, stock management and retail operations in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Lead field execution of brand activations, launches, events and commercial initiatives, delivering measurable business impact.
- Build strong working relationships with department store counterparts and other store-level stakeholders to support commercial initiatives and maximize business opportunities.
- Lead, coach and develop Counter Managers as business leaders, strengthening their ownership of sales, people and client development.
- Build high-performing retail teams through recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management and succession planning.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide structured, actionable coaching to Counter Managers and Beauty Advisors.
- Drive Beauty Advisor engagement through empowerment, trust, recognition and open communication.
- Identify capability gaps and partner with Education to implement measurable development and coaching plans.
- Ensure Counter Managers effectively manage individual performance, productivity, engagement and development across their teams.
- Create a positive, collaborative retail culture that promotes high performance, engagement and teamwork.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years’ experience in luxury, with strong exposure to coaching and training.
- Demonstrated sales growth and service excellence through people management.
- Experience leading teams across multiple locations.
- Previous multichannel experience is desirable.
- Beauty industry experience is preferred; hospitality industry experience is desirable.
