A temporary beauty advisor position with La Mer at Fenwick in York, working 22.5 hours per week. The role combines creative and technical makeup expertise with customer service to deliver personalized in-store beauty experiences, educate clients on prestige skincare and cosmetics, and execute in-store events. While makeup artistry certification or retail beauty experience is preferred, training is provided to develop creative and technical proficiency. The position requires availability across retail hours, including weekends and special events.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized, inspirational in-store beauty consultations and makeup applications tailored to individual customer needs
- Educate customers on La Mer products, techniques, and skincare philosophy to drive engagement and sales
- Execute and support in-store promotional events and campaigns to create brand impact
- Maintain high standards of visual merchandising and store presentation to differentiate the counter competitively
- Operate retail point-of-sale systems and manage transactions accurately
- Collaborate with the store team to achieve sales targets and service excellence
- Demonstrate makeup application techniques and product benefits through live demonstrations
Qualifications
- Makeup artistry certification or professional retail makeup experience (preferred but not required)
- Proven ability to deliver inspirational, authentic, and personalized customer service
- Creative and technical expertise in makeup application and color theory
- Flexibility to work retail hours including days, evenings, weekends, and special events
- Experience with retail point-of-sale software systems
- Right to live and work in the United Kingdom (proof required at interview stage)
