La Mer seeks a skilled Beauty Advisor to deliver personalized, inspirational in-store experiences through expert makeup application and customer education. This role combines creative and technical expertise with a passion for retail excellence, requiring the successful candidate to perform makeup artistry, drive in-store events, maintain visual merchandising standards, and contribute to a high-performing sales team. The position offers training and development opportunities for candidates with makeup artistry certification, previous retail makeup experience, or demonstrated creative and technical aptitude.

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide expert makeup application and personalized beauty consultations to customers in-store
• Create inspirational and authentic customer experiences through engaging product education and demonstrations
• Participate in and execute in-store beauty events and promotional activities to drive sales and brand awareness
• Maintain high standards of visual merchandising and store presentation to differentiate the brand against competitors
• Operate retail point-of-sale systems and process transactions accurately and efficiently
• Work collaboratively within a high-performing beauty team to achieve sales targets and customer satisfaction objectives
• Perform all duties across flexible retail hours, including evenings, weekends, and special events

Qualifications

• Makeup artistry certification or previous retail makeup experience preferred; amateur-level creative and technical expertise also considered
• Demonstrated ability to deliver inspirational, authentic, and personalized customer service
• Proficiency with retail point-of-sale software systems
• Flexibility to work retail hours including days, evenings, weekends, and special events in a fast-paced environment
• Proof of right to live and work in South Africa required prior to employment

Skills

Experience

While certification in makeup artistry or previous retail makeup experience is preferred, the employer welcomes applicants with amateur-level creative and technical expertise who can demonstrate passion for beauty and customer engagement.

Education

Makeup artistry certification is preferred but not required; high school diploma or equivalent expected.
