Role & Responsibilities

• Participates as a member of the Krug tasting committee, contributing to enological decisions and vintage assessments
• Conducts rigorous analytical and qualitative monitoring of wines throughout all production stages
• Provides support to laboratory operations and oversees the administration of digital tasting tools (BlackBook) and oenological systems (IdCuvePro, audit applications, etc.)
• Deploys requirements related to quality management systems (ISO 14001, 50001, 22000, FSSC, 9001 certifications); prepares and conducts audits
• Drafts and updates standard operating procedures and quality, health, and environmental (QSE) protocols
• Monitors key performance indicators and action plans for the oenology department
• Contributes to the development and oversight of supplier specifications (services, barrels, glassware, etc.)
• Participates in the development of oenological projects from conception through implementation
• Supports the deployment of IT projects related to oenology
• Manages vineyard site operations, particularly at Clos du Mesnil (harvest scheduling, pressing, vinification)
• Conducts vineyard parcellary tours pre-harvest and collaborates on harvest collection circuits with vineyard teams
• Builds internal awareness of wine through training sessions, tastings, and presentations
• Accompanies tasting committee members during communication events for diverse international audiences; potential for international travel
• Monitors and manages communications with Krug Lovers in collaboration with relevant teams

Qualifications

• Bac +5 level education with diploma in oenology (degree in Agricultural Engineering or Agri-Food Engineering is a plus)
• First professional experience in oenology, preferably in the Champagne sector or with sparkling wines (internship, apprenticeship, or recent graduate position)
• Fluent English and French (written and spoken); proficiency in a third language is desirable
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ease in public speaking
• Strong written communication abilities
• Meticulous attention to detail and high reliability
• Demonstrated autonomy and strong adaptability across diverse tasks
• Knowledge of oenological laboratory tools and techniques
• Foundational knowledge of or strong motivation to develop expertise in quality management systems (ISO 14001, 50001, 22000, FSSC, 9001)

Skills

Experience

First professional experience in oenology, such as an internship, apprenticeship, or entry-level position, ideally in the Champagne or sparkling wine sector. Recent graduates with a strong academic background in oenology are encouraged to apply.

Education

Bac +5 level education with a diploma in oenology. A degree in Agricultural Engineering or Agri-Food Engineering is advantageous.
