About Kiehl’s

Kiehl’s began in 1851 as an apothecary on the corner of Third Avenue and East 13th Street in Manhattan. Its skincare counters still offer consultations and samples, two practices handed down from the pharmacy.

Kiehl’s is hiring a permanent, full-time Global Social Media Manager in New York to lead global social-first campaigns, platform content strategy, community management, performance optimization, and agency and budget ownership. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 4–6 years of relevant experience; the annual salary range is $117,400–$167,300.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic development and end-to-end execution of Kiehl’s global social-first campaigns and content, translating brand priorities and cultural opportunities into compelling creative work.
  • Lead integrated content planning, agency and creator execution, and delivery of high-impact assets to markets to build brand relevance and social engagement.
  • Oversee global community management and engagement, fostering two-way consumer conversations and increasing social conversation.
  • Help shape and elevate Kiehl’s image across social platforms; work at the speed of culture to disrupt the social landscape.
  • Bring a clear creative vision and inspire new social content opportunities across functions.
  • Lead social-first campaign strategies for priority global launches and brand moments, translating global marketing objectives into platform-specific approaches informed by data and insights.
  • Own content-shoot briefing and execution, from creative concept through cross-functional collaboration, production and rollout.
  • Build campaign calendars, establish milestones, manage cross-functional reviews and senior-leadership approvals, and deliver against launch timelines.
  • Partner with Global Marketing, Creative, Communications and Advocacy, regional and local teams to deliver integrated 360 storytelling and content adoption.
  • Distribute campaign toolkits, asset libraries and activation guidance; support localization while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Oversee Instagram and YouTube content shoots, focusing on long-form LLM, social trends and inclusive global editorial moments.
  • Develop creative briefs and guide concepts, scripts, talent selection, storyboards, production plans and final assets; provide decisive feedback to raise creative quality and incorporate data into concepting and reviews.
  • Drive a test-and-learn pipeline for new formats, identifying cultural and platform opportunities and balancing speed, brand relevance and business priorities.
  • Own the global community management strategy with the Social Analytics partner across priority platforms, actively engaging in conversations on global owned channels.
  • Develop a Community Management Playbook covering brand voice, engagement principles and escalation protocols for global markets; partner with local markets to establish ways of working that elevate brand relevance.
  • Partner with Social Analytics and Consumer & Market Insights to define campaign KPIs and measurement plans for awareness, engagement and content effectiveness.
  • Use platform performance, social listening, competitive analysis and audience insights to optimize live campaigns, identify social trends and shape future creative strategy.
  • Lead post-campaign recaps, identify actionable insights and present recommendations to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships and workstreams with creative, production and creator agencies; set expectations, manage feedback, and oversee SOWs and POs.
  • Manage assigned campaign and content budgets, forecasts and spend tracking with project management and finance.
  • Identify production efficiencies and prioritize resources across simultaneous campaigns and always-on needs.
