Kering seeks a Senior Manager, Indirect Tax in Wayne, NJ to lead indirect tax compliance and strategy for the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and scale a best‑in‑class indirect tax function covering sales & use, property tax, unclaimed property, business licenses and registrations for the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
- Design, implement and continuously improve processes and controls related to SAP and other tax systems following recent ERP implementation.
- Manage a direct team of seven to eight professionals; ensure timely filing, accurate workpaper documentation and audit readiness.
- Oversee registration, maintenance and review of tax exemption and resale certificates.
- Coordinate and prepare responses to tax authorities, manage audits and notices, and drive remediation plans.
- Maintain the Tax Calendar and track electronic payments and checks to ensure compliance with filing and payment deadlines.
- Provide technical research and analysis on indirect tax issues, including marketplace facilitator rules and economic nexus.
- Partner with brand finance, legal and business stakeholders to support new business initiatives, contract reviews, M&A due diligence and legislative impact analyses.
- Promote indirect tax awareness across the organisation through training and stakeholder engagement.
- Recommend policy, procedural and system changes to strengthen internal controls, tax minimisation and departmental efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- 10+ years of indirect tax experience in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department with responsibility for managing direct reports.
- Deep technical knowledge of U.S. and Canadian indirect tax regimes, including marketplace facilitator laws and economic nexus.
- Proven experience supporting tax compliance and audits across multiple U.S. states and Canadian provinces.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non‑tax stakeholders.
- Hands‑on management style with strong analytical and creative problem‑solving capabilities and the ability to prioritise under changing demands.

At least 10 years of tax experience in an accounting firm or corporate tax department, including management of multiple direct reports and substantive experience with U.S. and Canadian indirect taxation, marketplace facilitator rules and economic nexus; experience supporting SAP or other tax technology implementations is highly desirable.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 150,000 to USD 165,000 per annum.
