Kering seeks Senior Indirect Tax Accountant in Wayne, NJ to manage tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions with expertise in sales and use tax, property tax, and GST/HST returns.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare and file sales and use tax returns, NYC Commercial Rent tax returns, and Canadian GST/HST tax returns across multiple jurisdictions
- Prepare and file legal entity annual reports, business licenses, permits, and validate resale certificates
- Gather data, identify asset locations, and prepare property tax renditions and compliance documentation
- Assist with indirect tax audits, including data gathering, account analysis, reconciliation, and supporting audit defense
- Maintain proficiency in state and local tax laws using tax research software and third-party research tools
- Research complex tax issues and execute special projects as assigned
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders on tax compliance matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (advanced degree preferred)
- 3+ years of indirect tax and/or accounting experience
- Proficiency with Vertex O Series, Vertex Returns, Avalara, and ERP software such as Oracle or SAP
- Experience researching state and local tax laws using third-party research tools such as CCH, TTR, BNA, or Checkpoint
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word
- Experience with database tools such as Alteryx (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions
- Superior judgment and critical thinking skills
Skills
Experience
3+ years of relevant indirect tax experience and/or accounting experience; experience in a retail or luxury retail environment is advantageous. The candidate should demonstrate a track record of managing tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions and maintaining proficiency with evolving state and local tax regulations.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; an advanced degree (such as an MBA or Master's in Taxation) is a plus.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to USD 100,000 per annum.
